Antonio Giordano, MD, PhD, best known as the discoverer of Rb2/p130, a tumor suppressor gene, is the President and Founder of the Sbarro Health Research Organization (S.H.R.O.), which conducts research to diagnose, treat and cure cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other chronic illnesses. He is Professor of Biology at Temple University in Philadelphia and 'chiara fama' Professor in the Department of Medicine, Surgery and Neuroscience at the University of Siena, in Siena, Italy. He is the author of over 400 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, serves as a member of editorial boards of several professional journals, and frequent grant reviewer for federal and international funding agencies. Dr. Giordano has mentored over 200 hundred graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, including international researchers. In addition, Dr. Giordano is the Director of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine and Center for Biotechnology at Temple's College of Science & Technology
